Eagle Update - August 17th, 2020
Soar Like An Eagle!
August 17th, 2020
Last week the Board approved the re-opening plan to include three options for our elementary families. This includes Face to Face, Virtual, and eAchieve. The links below provide information related to the options that are available to families. This is no easy task for families at this time. Every family needs to make the decision that makes the most sense for them right now. Please know that we support your decision and respect the choice that you make. We are still all in this together whether it be Face to Face or Virtual. Thanks to all of you who have reached out and I encourage you to continue to reach out if you have any questions as you finalize your decision and plans for the first trimester of school. We are here for you and we will do the best that we can to answer questions and/or direct you to the appropriate resource.
On Friday, you should have received an email from the district requesting your 'commitment' for the first trimester. A good number of you have already taken the survey to indicate your intention for the first trimester. The goal is to have the survey completed by Wednesday, August 19th. Please see below for information related to the survey and the survey link. For us to move forward with teacher placements it is imperative that you complete this survey as quickly as possible. We know that all of you are putting a great deal of thought into your decision and understand that there is a lot to process.
District Communication:
The Elementary (Gr. 4K -5) Elementary Enrollment Selection Form was emailed to families late Friday afternoon. This form is the actual commitment form to select your child's attendance method for the first trimester of the 2020 school year.
Before you fill out this form you will be asked to provide your child's Student ID number and date of birth. (Your child's student ID number is available in your parent portal in Infinite Campus listed as "student number". It is a 6 digit number and is also their lunch code.) There is a screen shot below to help you find this in IC. This is a necessary step to make sure each student is only counted once. You should fill out the form once for each student you have enrolled in the district. Once you have completed the form you will not be allowed to submit another form.
The deadline for completion of this Enrollment Selection Form is Wednesday, August 19, 2020.
Virtual Teacher Introduction and Virtual Classroom Tour
Additionally, on Wednesday, August 26th we will release a Virtual Classroom Tour of your child's classroom. The tour will be recorded so that you can view the classroom as many times as you will like and this will also make it easier for you to view at your convenience. We know that we have families with multiple students and busy daily agendas, and so we decided to go with a recorded Virtual Tour at this time.
Masks at Rose Glen Elementary
Arrival - Bus and Walkers Circle
Bus:
- Students are required to wear masks on the bus. Please ensure that your child is aware of this as there could be removal from the bus if your child does not wear their mask. The bus driver will make the school aware of any child not wearing a mask.
- Students will be assigned a seat on the bus based on their stop. We will continue to focus on have 4K and Kindergarten students sit towards the front if they do not have any older sibling to sit by on the ride to and from school.
- Appropriate bus behavior is a must to ensure the safety of all students. Students who consistently demonstrate they are not able to adhere to the bus expectations will be removed from having the opportunity to ride the bus.
Walkers' Circle:
If you are dropping your child off in the morning, then they will need to be dropped off at Walkers' Circle which is located off of Brookhill Rd. Students will then walk up the hill to the playground. This does not apply to 4K students who will be dropped off at the 4K Door (more information coming). More visual information will be coming in the next update. Here are some key points to consider when they are dropped off in the morning.
- Students cannot be dropped off until after 8:30 AM.
- There will be no morning recess time before the start of the day bell rings.
- Students will have a spot that they go to when they arrive on the back playground. Students will be supervised before the enter the building for temperature checks.
- There will be no entrance through the front doors of the building.
