Notes from the Office

Here you will find the most up-to-date information about after school clubs, activities, and upcoming events. Be sure to check out the information about the Fall Social on November 5th. It's going to be a fun night!

Morning Drop Off

Now that the students have really settled into the arrival process at school, let's help them be more independent! Our teachers are happy to greet the children each morning and jump in to help when needed, but at this point we expect all students to exit their cars independently and close the car doors behind them. To assist with this here are some tips:

* Be sure your students are seated on the passenger side of the car for easy exit.

* As you are waiting in the car line and approaching the front of the line have them gather up their belongings and prepare to exit.

* Quick goodbyes make car line move faster!

Winter Uniforms begin October 11th!

Another dress code video will be in production this week and I will share it in next week's newsletter, but now is a good time to start taking out those winter uniforms and getting them ready for next week. Consult the school handbook for details on winter uniform.

* Non-SKS hoodies are not permitted to be worn as part of the uniform, SKS quarter zips or sweaters should be worn with the uniform.

* Opaque navy leggings may be worn in lieu of tights, however navy knee socks must be worn with the leggings.

* Please check skirt lengths. There are many skirts that are way too short. When a student stands with their hands at their side the skirt should meet their fingertips.

The students have been doing an excellent job with dress code these first few weeks of school. Keep up the great work and thank you for your support!

Prayer Corner

This week we celebrate the feast of St. Francis of Assisi. He is the patron saint of animals and the environment. Below is a special prayer for those families who have pets.

Good St. Francis, you loved all of God's creatures. To you they were your brothers and sisters. Help us to follow your example of treating every living thing with kindness. St. Francis, Patron Saint of animals, watch over my pet and keep my companion safe and healthy. Amen.

Thank you for your support!

I am amazed each week at the learning happening in this building! Our teachers are going above and beyond both in communicating with all of you and planning engaging lessons for the students. We are blessed here at SKS! Thank you for your support at home. Let's make it another fabulous week at school!
God Bless You!
