Friday, October 14- A Week in Review

We have had a GREAT week! I can't believe we are almost to the end of the the first quarter. Time flies when you are having fun!


The Fun(d) Run was FUN!! Thanks for everyone who donated or supported PTO in any way to help us with this! The kids really enjoy it!


Remember, the Fall Festival is tonight at 5:30!! See you there!


Conference times went home today. I did my best to accommodate your requests. If you find that you can't make it work, please contact me to reschedule.


Permission slips for our bowling field trip went home today. Please sign and return ASAP. We MUST have a signed permission slip for your child to participate!


HERE IS OUR WEEK IN REVIEW:

Spelling/Word Work:

*I can change determine how to spell words that have the ou or ow sound. For example: Sound, round, brown, town

*I can determine the difference between THERE and THEIR. (There refers to a place; their refers to something someone owns)

Reading:

*I can identify the central message in a story and find proof in the story of that central message.

*I can think about the character in the story and how he/she changes from the beginning to the end.

*I can identify a reflexive pronoun.

Writing:

*I can produce a final copy of my story.

*I can illustrate my story.

*I can use a writing partner to help me revise or edit my story to make it even better.

*I can use examples of writing to compare to mine to see if I could make changes to improve my writing.

Science/Social Studies:

*I can identify different kinds of landforms.

Math:

*I can find the total number of objects in a rectangular array with up to 5 rows and 5 columns.

*I can make combinations of 10 (2 numbers when added together equal 10)

*I can participate it Math Workshop responsibly!
