EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP SCHOOL DISTRICT
Central Office Communications: Week of January 3, 2021
OUR CURRENT REALITY
Happy New Year!
Let us all embrace this new year with grace. Look to be grateful for all that we have accomplished during this difficult time in history. Our school community really came together this past year to achieve many great things that included a balanced budget, full day kindergarten, the road back to school plan, a new turf and track, and preschool for all- to name a few. This was all made possible through collaborative efforts, data review, and transparent discussions. I am grateful for all who have contributed with their positive and productive feedback which assisted us in getting to where we are today.
With all well rested and refreshed, I am excited for our return to teaching and learning. I really look forward to getting our students back into our buildings on January 19, 2021. Let’s continue to be understanding of our current situation and work together to provide a safe and healthy educational environment for our students and staff.
We will remain- #EHTStrong!
Looking forward to the new year.
Yours in Education,
Kimberly A. Gruccio

CLIMATE & CULTURE
The culture of our schools includes our school improvement efforts to increase student achievement for ALL students. Where with Every Hand Together, Every child, Everyday is provided a relevant learning experience. Through professional development opportunities we are building an effective learning culture where students are provided a safe learning environment. Our teachers collaborate in professional learning communities to review student progress in order to provide ALL students with the opportunity to learn at high levels. We have a district -wide initiative that includes individualized interventions through the RTI process to assist ALL students with learning. We know that in order to successfully educate each student, we must be cognizant of each student’s individual learning needs. This can only be accomplished if we work together to eliminate any predictability of achievement disparities by race, ethnicity, gender, language, disability, and/or economics. All faculty and staff participated in equity training during our professional learning days. The high school multicultural club will be preparing to join the district equity committee to participate in collaborative discussions and event planning. Together, we can achieve more!
