Message from Mrs. Kilday
For those who celebrate, Happy Hannukah!
This is a very busy time of year for many families. Excitement is in the air and we are certainly seeing that here at the preschool. It is wonderful but for some children it can be quite overwhelming. I thought I would share some words of wisdom with you today. First and most importantly try to keep a consistent routine. Young children benefit this and young children with disabilities NEED it. I know that can be challenging at times, but give it a try. When your routine is going to change, give a heads up. Maybe that requires a discussion or maybe it requires a visual schedule or reminder. Next, keep the bedtime routines stable!! This is a big one. Bedtime is very challenging for preschoolers and everyone needs a good night's sleep, including you. Hold that time!! It will help in the long run. Also, be aware of new foods around the holidays. There are a lot of allergy triggers lurking if your child has food allergies. Last, try not to stress if your child seems a little off. This happens and it will resolve for the most part. Extra hugs are always helpful!
Try to relax and enjoy your little one. Life is not perfect, but they are pretty darn close!!!
I hope you have a relaxing evening everyone.
Donna

Community Peer Applications
Community Peer Applications
Our community peer applications for the 2023-2024 school year will be posted to our website on Friday, January 6th. If your child is eligible to return next year and is in a community peer slot, we will send a hard copy application home with you. Returning students get priority and our schedules will remain the same for next year. We will hold the lottery for community peer slots the week of February 6th. If you have any questions please reach out to Mrs. Kilday.
If your child is on an IEP, their schedule is determined by their special education team so you do not need to complete a lottery application.

Highlighting Sensory Motor Group
These types of gross motor activities are important for our children to practice because they help them learn how to coordinate and control their body movements. Gross motor skills also help lay the foundation to be able to complete fine motor skills. Participation in these types of physical activities help to foster academic performance and important school day skills, such as attention and memory. Most of all we have lots of FUN!!
