All County Chorus
Mrs. Cullinane would like to commend the seven talented 5th grade chorus members who auditioned for All County Chorus. They each performed two solo songs and were scored on Intonation & Pitch, Diction, Volume & Projection, and Stage Presence. Any one of these students would have represented MCCS very well, however we can only select two students to attend All County Chorus.
Bravo to all of our candidates, and congratulations to Chloe Steverson and Reese Teasdale - we look forward to hearing you perform on May 4!
2/3 Update
Mrs. Wallace and Ms. Morgan’s classes have been participating in project based learning to help students learn about native people and their habitats. These topics are linked to Virginia standards. Our projects motivate students to gain knowledge of the standards. Our classes have researched tribes throughout different regions and the habitats where they lived. They learned the relationships between the people, their culture, and how it was impacted by the plants and animals in their regions.
The students are looking forward to displaying their work at our upcoming Leo Night. In Ms. Morgan’s class, the students have worked with Ms. Morgan and Mrs. Hatter to create Break Out Boxes by using technology to apply their knowledge in an interactive display. In Mrs. Wallace’s class, students wrote research papers and used their creativity to design projects that will teach members of our community, families, and friends about the history of Native Tribes.
We look forward to highlighting the students’ hard work and learning in writing, reading, science, social studies, dance, physical education, technology, and art. We hope to see you there!
