Ordean East Middle School News
Vol. 3 Issue 2 - August 23, 2021
Hello OEMS Huskies,
If you stop by for Back to School Night on Thursday, Sept. 2, 4:30-6:30PM, you may put your school supplies in your locker. Don't leave your combination numbers in your locker, unless you've got them memorized.
A new student planner will be given to every student within the first couple days of school. It will be a great tool to help stay organized.
If you still have textbooks, library books, a Chromebook or other school issued items from last year, bring them to school so we can clear your fine and get them back into our inventory.
We have extended Back to School Night from 4:30-6:30PM and divided the evening by last name. Please do your best to stop by in the designated time slots, in an attempt to reduce the number of people in the building at the same time. Everyone attending must wear a face covering/mask while in the building.

Physical Education in Middle School
All students have a P.E. class each year. Our 6th & 7th graders rotate between PE & Music classes every other day. Our 8th graders have a semester of PE and a semester of Health class.
While participating in PE class, students use the locker rooms to change into a PE uniform (gray t-shirt/black shorts). The uniforms will be available for purchase from the PE teachers over the first couple weeks of school. Locks will be provided for the locker room. There are three rotations for instruction within our school for PE class- pool, weight room and gym. There are also times we move instruction outside to the field. Students will be wearing masks when they are in the building. We will not be starting the year with swim instruction. Students do not need to bring a swimsuit or towel to school, until further notice. We will be reevaluating whether swim instruction will be incorporated into PE instruction 2nd semester.
