Your Weekly BGS PTO News & Happenings

The Color Run

Thanks to everyone who came out for last week's Color Run! The brief rain clouds rolled out and we ended up with beautiful weather for our race around the fields. The kids had a blast, our volunteers ended up just as colorful, and a fantastic time was had by all!

Special thanks to Joanne Weems for organizing the event!

Field Day Helpers Needed

There's still time to let Mr. C & Mr. U know that you can can help run events during BGS Field Day on Tuesday, June 14th with a rain date of June 15th

The event runs from 8:50 - till about 11, but volunteers are asked to report at 8:15 for a briefing on game instructions. Note that while you may see your child in passing, you won't be able to follow them to their various challenges. This is a great chance to help out the whole school, see some of the activities they do in gym, and cheer on our Bears.

If you can assist, please contact Mr. Chartowich at bchartowich@brrsd.k12.nj.us.

Spring Book Fair

Don't miss our BOGO (Buy One - Get One) Book Fair the week of June 6. Students will attend with their classes during the week. You can also shop as a family on Wednesday, June 8 from 6-8 PM.

Volunteers will be needed to help run the store both during school hours and during the family shopping evening. Even an hour of help means a lot to our Bears! Keep an eye out for sign up info.

Volunteer Appreciation

It's been a very busy school year and we'd like to take some time to recognize the hard work of ALL of our volunteers. Without your help, we couldn't have staffed book fairs and holiday shops, arranged class parties, counted box tops, or done any of the other great things our PTO does to make the BGS community so special.

We invite all members of the BGS community who have volunteered their time or talents in some way to our annual Volunteer Appreciation gathering on Thursday, June 16th 6:30pm prior to our end of the year PTO meeting. Sign Up here

See you there!

4th Grade Fun Day Volunteers Needed

Each year, our PTO sponsors a fun-filled day to celebrate our outgoing 4th graders before they graduate BGS and move on to Eisenhower. Our 4th Grade Fun Day Team has a ton of fun in store. This year's send-off will be a 4th Grade Summer Carnival on Friday, June 17 during the school day. (SHH! The theme is a surprise.)

We kindly ask parents to help make the BGS Fourth Grade Summer Carnival a fun and successful event! Volunteer opportunities aren't just open to the 4th grade parents - if you're the parent of a younger Bear, we invite you to join us to get some ideas for your future 4th grade send-off.

Please sign up for as little as an hour, or all day, if you can! Don't forget to wear light/cool clothing, hats, sunglasses, bring a water bottle with ice, and remember your bug spray and sunscreen.
