PRESCHOOL SCREENING

BASD's offers preschool screenings for *parents concerned about their child's development*. This is for children between the ages of birth to 5 years old. This is different than the 4K or 5K kindergarten screening.

Screenings take place on November 11, January 20, and March 24. Schedule an appointment by calling the district at 763-0210.

HEALTHY HABITS KEEP SCHOOLS OPEN

Cold and flu season won't take a backseat to COViD 19. Here are a few helpful tips to stay healthy and in school.

  • Get 8-10 hours of sleep a night.
  • Eat breakfast every day.
  • Eat a balanced diet with veggies & fruits.
  • Drink plenty of water!
  • Practice good personal hygiene (wash hands frequently, bathe & brush teeth regularly, wear clean clothes/masks, etc.)

Remember, if your child is sick (congestion, sore throat, cough, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, muscle aches, etc) please keep them home. These could be cold, flu, or COVID symptoms. It's hard to determine the difference and we want our school to remain healthy and open.

FIGHT SICK WITH SIX!

Studies show that students who make it a habit to wash hands during key times get sick less often. So as your children head back to school, have a conversation with them about how they can “Fight sick with six!” and wash their hands at six key points each day:

• Before every meal or snack

• After using the bathroom

• After blowing their nose, coughing or sneezing

• After touching garbage

• After handling animals, animal cages, animal food or animal waste

• If hands are visibly dirty
