The Nile
Used boats for many things like fishing and reaching other farmlands. The mummified bodies of respected people like pharaoh a were carried to their tombs in boats.
Importance of the Nile
Every time the Nile flooded,Egyptians were thankful. It spread fresh soil all over their crops. Fresh soil made the crops better and fresher. It made growing crops easier. This was one of the three stages in growing crops. The other two were Emergence,(planting and growing), Harvest. Egyptians depended on the Nile for for water and fish.
Papyrus
Papyrus grew along the Nile and was a reed like plant. It was often used for making everyday life things like baskets, sandals and boats or rafts.
Transportation and Trade
The Egyptians traded goods like fur and copper and silver for other goods. Rafts were built to travel to the other side of the Nile to tend to other crops. Egyptians made rafts so they could go fishing.
The water from the Nile
The water from the Nile was used for drinking, bathing, cooking, etc.
