About Mandela

Nelson Mandela was born July 18, 1918 in South Africa. He was a very important part of South Africa's history. He was committed to what he believed in and was not letting anyone take it from him. Every time he was transferred to a different prison Sisulu came with intel he went to Victor Vester Prison. When he was there he was in a prison house and that is when president FW de Klerk came to see Mandela and someone took a picture and showed people and said " While you are starving and in prison Mandela is living in a nice house". After 27 years in prison he was finally released he said that Sisulu had to be let out first and that he would leave when he was ready. So after 5 days he said that he was ready to leave. When he left he had his wife Winnie was right by him. Then when the election time came around all the black citizens were aloud to vote and Mandela ran for president and he won.
