Host Family Needed - We have a student who currently attends MHS that is in search of a host family to finish out the school year. If you are interested in hosting, please contact Mr. Joe Rodgers at josephrodgers@rsu57.org to learn more information.
I encourage you to consider attending our Winter Music/Choral Concert this coming Thursday, December 21 starting at 6:30 pm. Our students and staff will be sure to delight with their hard work and upcoming performance.
I am anticipating a fun final week of school for the year 2023 at MHS. Our students continue to work hard to conduct themselves in a manner that brings honor to themselves and to their families. MHS students have also worked equally hard to demonstrate academic proficiency and growth in their learning. I wish our entire Mustang Nation a happy, safe, and relaxing break.
Take care,
-Mr. Thurlow
WINTER BREAK OUTREACH & SUPPORT
Students in Mrs. Todd’s World History are learning about the advent of the printing press and its impact on Europe. Students looked at the construction and meaning of popular nursery rhymes as a means of teaching and communicating lessons to children in the 1400s and analyzed how the invention of the printing press was a catalyst for the increase in literacy and geographic awareness at the turn of the Sixteenth Century. Students are engaged in a lively discussion and are making connections between the past and present-day real world events. One student said, “It’s really interesting to see all the increases that came from this one invention.” Great job, Mrs. Todd. Thank you for providing our students with valuable connections to the past and implications for their futures!
NJRTOC Clothing Drive
The NJROTC is holding a holiday clothing and item drive from Dec. 18th-21st. The drive is to support Maine Needs, a non-profit organization in Maine. They are looking for warm clothes, winter boots, bed sheets, toys for young children, and much more. Check out the flyer below to see what items are needed.
