This week our class will be reading stories about the kinds of fresh foods grown on a farm. Your child will be identifying different kinds of fruits and vegetables.
Here are some activities that you can do with your child to help reinforce the skills we will be practicing.

Our sight words this week are HE and WITH. We have two words and two letters we are working on this week so it is important to reinforce this at home as well. I know they will do great.
We finally have some snow. Please send in boots, extra shoes, snow pants, hats, and gloves as the children will be going outside this week.

Your children are AWESOME! Thank you for all that you do. We have been working so hard in the classroom and they are doing GREAT! I cannot believe how far they have come in just this short period of time. I hope you are seeing the progress at home! Please keep reading and practicing the sight words that have been sent home.
We are officially out of EXPO markers. If anyone would like to donate some to the class, we would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance.
Book orders have been placed. Thank you for your continued support.
Have a great week!

Please know that we will try to get outside for recess. Remember, in order for your child to play in the snow he/she must have snow pants, boots, hat, mittens, and a jacket. I also suggest sending in extra socks to leave in the backpack. Little feet get wet! If you are in need of any of the outer wear please let me know. We have many resources to help.
Scholastic Book Orders were placed Friday. New book orders will be sent home soon and are due on February 8.
Our Winter Concert is on Tuesday, January 29th at 9:00. It should last about 45 minutes. Students are asked to wear black and white.

Thiis week I will send home the class list for Valentine's. There is also a Valentine box that I am asking for every child to make at home and send in before Monday, February 11th. This box will be used to collect the Valentine's from friends on February 14th. We will be having a small celebration of our friendship on Valentine's Day.
I appreciate all of the donations that many of you have sent in. I really do! We always are in need of Antibacterial Wipes, Hand Soap, and Expo Markers.
I hope you have a great week!
Notes from Mrs. Goldthwaite
This week we will be practicing our hand writing. I noticed that many of the students are rushing to get their names on the papers. I would like them to put their best hand writing forward.
Please keep reading each night. This helps with their reading fluency. Sight words are a must. You can play games to learn these words. It doesn't need to be in a book form. Memory, I spy, and looking in a paper or off the boxes of cereal.
I am sending home a home work project for you to do with your child. Please look for the notice in folders. If you have any questions please ask. The class list for Valentines card exchange is attached.
