Beaverton School District is now enrolling for Kindergarten
The Beaverton School District is now enrolling for Kindergarten at all elementary schools for the 2019-2020 school year.
Any child who will be five (5) years of age on or before September 1, 2019 is now eligible to enroll for Kindergarten at their designated home school. Online Registration is available for new student enrollment. After the online application has been submitted you will want to schedule a visit to your child's school, prior to the first day of their attending. This visit is important as you may receive school-specific forms to complete. Parents/guardians will need to provide a birth certificate and immunization record at the time of enrollment.
Each elementary school will offer parents an opportunity to find out more about the kindergarten program at their spring Kindergarten information events.
Please check with your neighborhood school to see when the event is scheduled.
If you are uncertain about which elementary school is your home school, you can check any address to see what elementary, middle or high school attendance boundary it is located in using the District Address Locator or call 503-356-4500.
For more information on registering your child for Kindergarten, including a list of
2019-2020 Kindergarten Orientation Dates, Immunization Requirements and much more, please visit the Kindergarten Information webpage.
February is CTE Month
This is a great time to celebrate the achievements of the many dedicated Career & Technical Education students and staff in the Beaverton School District. Here is a list of the CTE programs by high school:
A CTE Program of Study is a sequence of courses, aligned to industry standards at the secondary and post-secondary level, that integrates technical and career skills with academic content. CTE teachers prepare students for further education and training or direct job placement, by collaborating with industry and community college partners to provide hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for high-wage and high-demand occupations. All of our programs work to develop employability/soft skills and engage students in career-related learning activities. Many of our programs offer students the opportunity to earn industry credentials or dual credit or participate in leadership opportunities through Career and Technical Student Organizations.
CTE teachers in the BSD contribute to our students’ graduation rates and college and career readiness:
- The 2017-18 graduation rate for BSD students who earned one or more credits in a technical skill-based course as part of an Oregon state-approved CTE program was 98.5% compared to 86.4% for all BSD students.
Please take a moment to congratulate a CTE teacher or student in your school or community!
Important Volunteer Reminders
Volunteers are an important part of the WE in the District’s goal: WE empower all students to achieve post-high school success. Thank you very much for sharing your valuable time and talents with students and staff!
As a reminder, for the safety and welfare of students and staff, ALL volunteer activities must be coordinated and tracked through myvolunteerpage.com, the District’s online volunteer management system. Volunteers must sign in and sign out through the volunteer computer located in the school front office.
To use the computer sign in, you need the username and password you created for the Volunteer and Background Check Application process. To retrieve, or reset either of these, go to myvolunteerpage.com and click on the “Forgot Username or Password” link. Your username and a temporary password will be emailed to you. The first time you login using the temporary password you will be prompted to create a permanent password. Please write down and save these for future use.
If you would like to update your volunteer locations, or if you are no longer volunteering, please send an email to update_volunteer_locations@beaverton.k12.or.us and indicate the changes needed or that you would like to be removed from the system.
Please note, your volunteer profile will be archived if you have not logged into your profile or have not signed in through the volunteer computer for two (2) years after initially being cleared by the District to volunteer.
Thank you!
