Spring 2023 Parking Passes
We will begin reviewing parking passes for the Spring 2023 semester to determine if students still meet qualifications the week of January 23rd. Students will receive an approval or denial email sometime that week! If your student has never received a parking pass, have them go to their academy office and fill out an application or click Parking Pass. Applications will also be reviewed the week of the 23rd. If you have any questions, please email Mr. Earls at matthew.earls@mnps.org.

Academy Showcase
Academy Selection is Underway for Freshmen
It is time for our freshmen to select their academy and pathway. During January, students will be exploring the different academy and pathway options, the careers related to each one and the opportunities for college credit and industry certifications provided. Teachers have also been going over YouScience results to help students understand their natural talents and skills, as well as the career areas in which they show a strong interest. Students will make their selections in class February 6-7. Placements will be posted on Schoology on February 10. Once students are placed, changes will not be made. If you would like to know more about our academies, please visit https://bit.ly/JOHSAcademies. If you have questions, please reach out to Sally Spear at sally.spear@mnps.org.
Parents Needed!
We are looking for one or two parents from each academy to serve on advisory boards. The boards consist of business partners, teachers, students and parents who meet once per quarter. In these meetings we often discuss labor market data for the academy, trends in hiring and skills needed in the workforce, and opportunities for students to connect to the industry. The meetings take place during the school day and last for approximately one hour. If you are interested in participating, please reach out to Sally Spear at sally.spear@mnps.org.
