What is this System?

This system is a series of numbers and decimals used to organize a nonfiction book based on its information. Many librarians around the world use the system to keep their libraries in an orderly manner, It is so widely used that almost all public schools use it to organize their shelves.

What does it look like?

The Dewey Decimal System is organized into roughly 10 sections:

000 - 099 : Generalities

100 - 199 : Philosophy & Psychology

200 - 299 : Religion

300 - 399 : Social Sciences

400 - 499 : Language

500 - 599 : Natural Sciences & Mathematics

600 - 699 : Technology ( Applied Sciences )

700 - 799 : The Arts

800 - 899 : Literature and Rhetoric

900 - 999 : Geography & History
