Reid Elementary News

April 2021

Dear Reid Families,

Spring is in the air. I hope you all had a warm and relaxing spring break! If you traveled internationally over spring break, please adhere to the following guidelines:

International Travel: Get Tested and Stay Home After Travel

The following actions are expected of both STUDENTS and STAFF who travel out of the country:

Get tested with a viral test 3-5 days after travel AND stay home and self-quarantine for a full 7 days after travel.

Even if you test negative, stay home and self-quarantine for the full 7 days.

If your test is positive, isolate yourself to protect others from getting infected.

If you don’t get tested, stay home and self-quarantine for 10 days after travel.

Please help us to stay open by monitoring your child for Covid symptoms and doing a temperature check before you send your child to school each day. Masks must be worn at all times unless eating or drinking. While we will do our best to safely distance our students, we can't guarantee the six foot spacing. We will continue to promote safe practices such as: hand washing, sanitizing when washing is not available, wearing of masks and maintaining spacing when feasible.

Children will go outside daily unless it is raining. Please make sure that they dress for the weather. An extra pair of shoes or mud boots are great for keeping mud outside and dry feet in the classroom.

Thank you to everyone who donated cereal for March is Reading Month. We donated the boxes to our local food pantry (FISH). Reading doesn't stop at the end of March. Please continue to keep reading all year long!

Also, a big Thank you to everyone who donated to the Leukemia foundation and shopped our March online book fair.

Reid Families are making a difference in our school and greater community!

Educationally yours,

Jamie Wagner

REID DROP OFF and PICK UP Procedures

If you are using the drop off line in the morning, please be sure to have your child(ren) exit from the right side of the vehicle. If you have to assist your child with getting out of the vehicle, please park in the parking lots and walk your child across the crosswalk to the side walk. The drop off lane consists of the whole front sidewalk regardless of what door your child enters. Please use the entire sidewalk for drop off to help keep our traffic flowing at a steady and safe pace.

If you are picking up your child at the end of the day, please go to the gym doors. A staff member will release your child to you at the door. Visitors and parents will not be allowed to enter the gym. Please remember to have your fast pass with you at pick up.

Thank you for helping us keep our drop off and pick up procedures safe.
