Round 1 of empowerED has kicked off and our teachers are changing their practices and integrating technology! We are super excited about Round 2...
Elementary empowerED teams will meet Wednesday, January 13th. Location: TBA
8 am - 4pm
Middle School empowerED teams will meet Thursday, January 14th. Location: TBA 8 am - 4pm
High School empowerED teams will meet Thursday, February 4th. Location: TBA 8 am - 4pm.
Lunch will be on your own. If you have any questions, please let me know. Be sure to remind your teams.
Hour of Code.... Almost here!
The Hour of Code is a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries. Anyone, anywhere can organize an Hour of Code event. One-hour tutorials are available in over 40 languages. No experience needed. Ages 4 to 104. Yes, Media & Tech can lead this movement in Franklin County Schools! Registration is open now. The hour of code national event is December 7-13, but it doesn't have to stop there. Don't know much about coding? Check out https://hourofcode.com and NCSLMA resources for more information/resources. Media & Tech pair up together for an awesome event. Don't forget to tweet out your pics #fcsempowered.
LAST CALL: Regional Elementary BOB Time! & FREE NCTies!
Battle of the books have been ordered for and PAID! We hope to have them to you by the end of the week! Get your teams ready and prepared! Any Media Specialist in High School/Middle School that is willing to coordinate our Regional Elementary BOB will get a free registration to NCTies. We do not have funds for a stipend, but I secured other funds for PD. This is a great way to work on PDP and evaluation. Let me hear from you. Offer ENDS November 30th.
