PSAT/NMSQT - October 12th, 2022
PSAT/NMSQT Test October 12th for all Juniors
This coming Wednesday morning, October 12th, all 11th graders will be taking the PSAT – National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test during 1st and 2nd block. All other grades will follow their normal schedule.
This test is good practice and predictor of a student's SAT score. It will help identify what areas could still use improvement before the SAT college entrance exam in April. Juniors are to report directly to their testing room Wednesday morning. Students will be emailed where to report. They should bring a calculator as none will be provided.
For more information about this test please visit https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/psat-nmsqt
Canvas - Parent Access
Dear Fraser Families,
Today we are excited to be launching parent access in Canvas, our learning management system.
With your parent account, you will be able to easily view the assignments and gradebook for students in grades 7-12. Elementary parents will be able to view assignments and coursework.
Please click here for detailed instructions on how to create your parent account. You will need to use a web browser, and your student will need to be logged in to their Canvas account on a separate device in order to generate the required pairing code.
Free College Application Month
Good afternoon seniors,
October is the time to start, if you haven’t already, applying to college.
Please see the attached document that has a list of Michigan colleges that are offering a free application in the month of October. Some requires the code listed while others will waive the fee altogether for this month only. A sample of colleges participating include Central, EMU, Wayne, MSU and WMU.
Also, please see an attached flyer on a College Open House presented by Butcher and Warren Consolidated Schools on October 27th. Fraser students are invited to attend!
If you have questions, please reach out to your counselor! Good luck!

Senior Meeting
Hello Senior Families,
FHS counselors met with the senior class last week to discuss important information regarding senior year and post-secondary options. We have attached the presentation for parents and any students that were unable to attend during SMART.
Financial aid is an important part of paying for college and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opens for the 2023-2024 school year, your first year of college, on October 1, 2022.
As always, if you have questions please reach out to your student’s counselor and we will be happy to answer them.

Updates to FHS Athletic Events
Dear Fraser Families,
With an effort to make this an enjoyable experience for all participants and spectators, we are implementing new guidelines for the remaining home varsity football games.
- FPS Elementary and Middle School students must be chaperoned by a parent or guardian to enter the Football stadium.
- Middle School students should have their student ID with them at the ticket booth.
- Students may not bring in outside food or drinks into the stadium.
- Students may not bring backpacks into the stadium.
- No outside balls or noise makers that are not pre-approved by administration
- Students are expected to sit in the bleachers and not walk around the Stadium or gather in common areas
- Students are not to sit or walk to Visiting Bleachers
- No standing on the fence line of bleachers to avoid obstructing view and exits
- In the event that a student is asked to leave the football game, the parent or the guardian will be asked to take that student home.
- Once students leave the stadium gates, they will not be permitted to re-enter.
As always, the safety of our staff, students and families remains our top priority. These additional measures will support our students in making good choices and create a safe environment for all to enjoy the event.
We encourage our families to take advantage of these athletic events. We can come together with our school community and reconnect with family and friends. Fraser is a special place and our athletic events allow our community to celebrate the rich history and tradition of our schools. These updated safety and support guidelines will be used for all Fraser High School athletic events moving forward.
With Fraser Pride,
Ryan D. Sines, Ed.S.
