Science Leadership Corps
Leveling Up the Apprentice Experience
What is Science Leadership Corps?
After School Matters and the Adler Planetarium are partnering to bring a leveled up experience for apprentices interested in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
On Fridays during the summer, Science Leadership Corps apprentices will prepare an experiment for a high altitude balloon launch.
Then, during the Fall 2014 program session, apprentices will co-lead your club so that all of your program members can create experiments for a winter or spring balloon launch.
We need you!
We are looking for program leaders that have at least 2 apprentices eager for extended experiences, and who can commit to integrating this curriculum into Fall programs.
Programs do not have to be STEM programs. The launch also focuses on documenting information and videography. Apprentices are encouraged to be creative in what they send to near space!
What will apprentices do?
Collaborate
Youth will work with apprentices from around the city and Far Horizons scientists on Fridays during the summer.
Experiment
They will prepare an experiment using Arduino programming for a high altitude balloon launch.
Lead
In the fall, they will co-lead your club so all of your program members can prepare an experiment for a balloon launch.
