BAD AXE GIRLS SOFTBALL

2015 NEWSLETTER

THANK YOU!

First and foremost, the board members of the Bad Axe Girls Softball League would like to say thank you to all of our great players, parents, and coaches! This year has been one of the best years the league has ever had and we are hoping to build upon that success for years to come!

The purpose of this newsletter is to update parents and players in regards to the direction the league is headed in the next season in order to develop softball players that are able to compete at the level of our competitors, while building an excitement for this fast paced game.

Pitching Clinics

Pitching clinics will continue throughout the year. The goal of this program is to provide proper pitching instruction to our girls. The league's board members believe that by investing in future pitchers, every girl on the field will benefit. We know that good pitching helps batting improve; good pitching allows both batters and fielders to gain much needed experience; good pitching leads to a more exciting and fun game for all! Pitching is not for everyone though. Girls that attend should be excited to commit to the position and the league. Good candidates are girls that want to pitch, are willing to learn, and are willing to practice, practice, practice. We would like to begin gathering names of girls that coaches and parents think are good candidates for this program. If you would like to be considered for this program please email your daughter/players name to Abbie London at alondon559@comcast.net to receive pitching clinic updates.

Changes for 2016

Currently the league is looking at the following changes:

* Practices and games will begin 2-3 weeks earlier than previous years.

* Players will be placed on teams by age not grade using September 1st as a cut off.

*12U team (formerly 5th and 6th grade) will be traveling to other local towns for games.
