We will share conference Zoom links with you soon. Please contact the front office at 434-293-7455 with any questions.
Adios, Ms. Montalvo
It is bittersweet to share that Lizmer Montalvo from our front office team will be taking a new position outside of ACPS next week. We are happy for her but she will be missed in the office. While we are in the process of hiring a bilingual team member, we ask families for additional patience and grace with arrival and dismissal changes. We cannot accept dismissal changes within 90 minutes of the end of the day. Thank you for your understanding and helping us to recruit additional staff for Mountain View: https://albemarleva.tedk12.com/hire/ViewJob.aspx?JobID=6896
Attendance, Arrival/Dismissal Changes
Families should have been notified of changes to bus schedules that are starting October 11. Please notify the office if your child’s dismissal plans are changing based on this information.
Attendance - If your child will be absent, call the office or email MountainViewOAs@k12albemarle.org with the reason for absence.
Dismissal changes - Please call or email the office before 1:00 p.m. if you need to make changes to your child’s dismissal plan for the day
Don’t forget - Wednesday, October 13 is early dismissal at 11:30am; notify the office by 9:30am on the 13th of any changes to their usual dismissal plan.
Help us Keep You Informed: Bright Arrow
All families should have received a message from ACPS on Monday, October 4, inviting you to our new communication system. In order to continue receiving messages, like this Weekly Wednesday Update, opt into text/email messages by sending the word “Yes” or “Sí” to the short code 87569.
Families only need to opt in a mobile number one time, even if they have children at multiple schools. Once opted in, you will receive a confirmation from BrightArrow, from the short code 87569.
Updates from Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Turner
MVES Respect Spirit Week Oct. 4-8, 2021
Unity Day-Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021
We want to inform families it is time for ACPS’ annual school climate survey. This survey is given to all students in grades 3-12 between October 8th to October 22nd. This will be done as part of class time with the school counselors.
The Playground area is reserved for EDEP until 6:00pm on Weekdays/ Early Release Days
Just a reminder, EDEP uses the outside blacktop and playground every weekday until 6:00. This includes the upcoming half days. Unfortunately due to safety protocols and liability, only students enrolled in EDEP are allowed to use the playground and blacktop before 6:00. EDEP appreciates your understanding
A Note from FLES (Foreign Language in the Elementary School)
“¡Hola de FLES! We have been having so much fun learning Spanish! From learning about Guatemala, Mexico, El Salvador, The Mayan, and making Muñecas quitapenas (worry dolls), our Potrillos are exploring new cultures and enjoying Spanish. Ask your Potrillo what country they are learning about in their FLES class and learn together!”
Sr. Schiller and Sra. Saul
Reminder: Sign up to be a substitute at Mountain View!

Reminder: School Year Safety/Mitigation Strategies
Please help us keep our school community healthy by screening at home before school daily using the COVID-19 Screening Tools.
Screening at-home before school and keeping your child home if he/she is sick
Talking at home about why we wear masks inside the school or buses
We will maximize physical distancing to the extent possible
We will all wash/sanitize hands throughout the day
Students will all eat in their classrooms or outside - eating as far apart as space will allow
We will take students outside as often as possible
Reminder: Snack Donations Always Needed Accepted
We will happily accept pre-packaged snack donations for children who are unable to provide their own. Not all classes have received donations so we need a general supply -- leave them in the front office for us to distribute upon request. Thank you!
