A Message from the Superintendent
STEM Family,
This summer has flown by and soon our hallways will be filled with students once again! We are so very excited to start a new school year and welcome back our students to full-time face-to-face instruction. Our focus and our goal this year is to provide an innovative and exceptional learning environment that will prepare each student for a successful future! We are so very grateful to have the support of amazing parents in this education journey. Please remember the best way to stay connected to the happenings here at STEM is to check your emails daily, read the monthly newsletters, follow us on social media, check your student's Google Classroom or CANVAS, and check Parent Portal (Ascender) weekly for updated grades. We look forward to seeing you soon!

How to Access STAAR Scores
This year, STAAR results will not be posted until JUNE 28th. STAAR results can show families and teachers how disruptions to instruction over the past year impacted learning. Next year, teachers can use results along with report cards and family input to create plans that support their child’s academic progress. Scores are for assessing learning levels only and are meant to show where your child is meeting grade-level expectations in each subject and where they may need additional support. Scores are grouped into four categories: does not meet, approaches grade level, meets grade level, and masters grade level.
Instructions for accessing your child's information are outlined below:
- Use this link to get started: https://txparentportal.emetric.net/login
- Click the blue link labeled "Lookup Unique Access Code".
- You will enter your child's name and social security number to look up their access code.
- You will now return to the main link and enter the access code and birthdate.
- Scores will NOT be posted until after June 28th.

Secondary Updates
Dear MS/HS Parents,
I hope this newsletter finds you enjoying the end of the season. This summer has seemed to fly by faster than I would have liked. The start of school is always an exciting time for educators, me included. There is so much optimism for what lies ahead. This year is no different.
This month’s newsletter I would like to spend an opportunity to give thanks to everyone this summer who came up for the three separate work days. We had a work day in June, and two in July. One of the things about working at a small school is that there is always a shortage of staff. During the summer the custodial staff are pulled to work on student housing, and we only have one grounds/maintenance person (shout out to Andrew our grounds person for all his help this summer). With a shortage of staff our students ALWAYS stand in the gap. This summer was no different. Our second work day we had about 20 people here on campus helping with moving/cleaning at the Founders building. I am continually humbled by the giving spirit of our students, and the families that joined in to assist. Thank you all for helping to get Founders ready for the start of the 2021-2022 school year. #TeamSTEM
A special thanks is also due to our STEM-PTO. While we were moving Founders around, PTO provided donuts, pizza, and water for our workers. Thank you PTO!

Mr. Cody Griffin
