Welcome Back!

Hello HCS Families!


Welcome back to another new and exciting school year. We eagerly look forward to greeting students and families again, and this time, in person! Students, we can't wait to see you walk through our doors next week! Parents, we hope YOU are relaxed, recharged and ready for a wonderful partnership. We know wearing masks can feel scary, but our students ROCKED IT last year! Please take comfort knowing we will be there making sure your child is safe and comfortable, and we'll be supporting them every step of the way.


I welcome and value your dedication to excellence in education, as well as your input and feedback as parents, so please feel free to reach out any time via email or phone. The collective commitment from our families, our students, our teachers, and all of our staff here at HCS continues to be awe-inspiring. It remains an honor and privilege to serve as your principal. Together, I know we will make this school year one of growth and achievement for all of our children.

Hi! Welcome back to the new school year 2021-2022!! PTA is excited to welcome our teachers, staff and kids back to school! School Hours

School hours are from 9:00 AM– 3:15 PM. Doors will open at 8:55, at which time all students will be allowed to enter the building. In the case of a half-day of school, dismissal is at 11:40 am. Students should not come to school any earlier than 8:55 AM unless a teacher has notified you in advance. UPK hours in the morning will be 9:00-11:30, and afternoon classes will be 12:45-3:15.

Arrival Procedure

Parent drop off will continue to be at the Elementary Lobby Entrance loop. Please access the parent loop using the Allens Hill Road entrance and proceed through the parking lot to the loop. Adults, please pull forward and remain in your vehicle until staff are positioned on the sidewalk signaling they are ready to assist with students. For safety purposes, it is important that students exit the vehicle on the sidewalk side of the car. Staff will be there to assist with students who may need help.

Dismissal Procedure

If your child is a car rider, the dismissal process will return to students being dismissed from the cafeteria. Please enter the building through the elementary lobby and proceed to the cafeteria. Students will be called down beginning at 3:15, and will need to be signed out by a designated adult. Doors will open at 3:00 for adults to enter. Please have a valid ID when checking out your student with one of our staff.


Important to note:

  • Any special circumstances that may have been in place last year will not carry over to this year. Requests for this year must be re-submitted in writing or in an email to transportation and/or the nurses office.
  • Bus drivers will be communicating bus information prior to the first day of school. If you have not heard from anyone yet, please be on alert that someone will be reaching out soon.
