Art Class Coming to VCA!

We are excited to announce an exciting opportunity for our students! Starting this Friday, February 7, Samantha Graber will begin teaching a two hour art class, approximately every other week. (Please check VCA's Calendar for specific dates.) Each of these classes will be two hours long and the fee to attend will be $20 per class.

This Friday, we will be introducing the students to different disciplines of art. The students will be sketching and learning shading techniques. They will begin with some fun brain exercises to get all ages engaged, do some practices, and then sketch a couple of objects using the correct perspective.

Samantha Graber is an incredible local artist, and has been working with homeschool students for over 3 years. She started Murals and More in 2006, and you've probably seen many of her murals around town (including Calvary Baptist Church's Children's wing, local Pediatrician's offices, etc.) She also offers personal and group art lessons, art parties year round, and art camps during the summer.

***Please RSVP at info@vanguardclassicalacademy.com in order to have enough supplies***

***THESE CLASSES ARE OPEN TO HOMESCHOOL STUDENTS. If you know of a homeschool family that might be interested, please pass this information along. Spots are limited so RSVP as soon as possible if you wish to join in!

April 3 ~ Field Trip: The Houston Science Museum

An original edition of the "Magna Carta" is on display at The Houston Science Museum for a limited time! Our 5th and 6th grade students studied the Magna Carta earlier this year, and we thought it would be a great opportunity for the students to see this historic document in person! We will meet as a group at Pappadeaux in Beaumont at 7:30 a.m., for those wanting to caravan or carpool. If you wish to drive independently, we will meet at the main entrance of the museum at 9:30 a.m. Tickets are $7.50 per person and an additional $3.50, if you wish to see the Butterfly Exhibit.
