World History
This week we are looking at the aftermath of World War I, which basically means the causes of World War II. There are a number of graphic organizers that can be used in this unit located in PowerSchool Learning. Additionally, there are a few formative assessment questions for the beginning of the unit.
Civics and Economics
The United States District Court: Middle District North Carolina has some unique opportunities for Civics teachers. They have people that can do a school visit or you can arrange a courthouse visit. Also, they are sponsoring a student essay contest with cash prizes for the winners. Check out the information here.
Don't forget about EVERFI for PFL. And, they are having a contest (with prize money) for the students and teachers. You can get more information about the contest click here.
American 1
This unit provides a great opportunity to discuss the American Dream, as it pertains to various groups as they participate in the development and/or settlement of the West. There are numerous readings in PowerSchool Learning on immigrant groups during this time.

Message from Melissa
Are you refreshed? Relaxed? Counting down, again?
For those in the latter group, there is about 6 weeks before testing review and testing begins. Can you believe it?
If you want to work with me to plan a lesson or develop a review idea, please let me know. I would be glad to help!
Have a great week.
