Teachers administer digital or online assessments to a majority of their students
Our AEA BrightBytes scores indicate only 53% of our teachers are using digital or online assessments. There are many great formative assessment tools out there that can provide quick feedback to students but also can help us inform instruction and support. Beth Swantz has a blog post about Plickers and quick formative assessment tool that only requires one device. If you are looking for more easy formative assessment tools this Formative Assessment Smackdown resource that looks at Recap, Formative, Quizizz, and a few others to get you started. Contact your GWAEA digital learning consultant if you are looking for other ways to use online assessments in your classroom
Why This Matters
Adaptive, online tests are being seen “as a key tool for building personalized learning programs that address students’ individual strengths and weaknesses” (Bushweller, 2014).
Please contact your digital learning consultant in your district is interested in getting their Brightbytes- Clarity data.
