McKinley Elementary School
Weekly News--October 4-8
No School--Monday, 10/11--Columbus Day
When I walk through classrooms and hallways, it's easy to see that fall has arrived. Student artwork on the walls and books they are reading in class show that our students are learning so much of what fall brings. Hopefully, you can spend some time outside with your child noticing the changes in the trees. It truly is a beautiful time of the year.
With the cooler weather in the evenings, it is also the perfect time to curl up with your child and read a story. It is so very important for parents to continue to read to their children even as they learn to practice reading to you.
It's time to send a "Boo-Gram" to your child, your child's friends, or even the whole class. Look for the flier that was sent home today. Our PTA is also hosting a Trunk or Treat on October 29. If you would like more information, please read the PTA information section of this newsletter. You can also email email@example.com or message the PTA on their Facebook page.
Have a great weekend!

Miss Katelyn Martin--TK/K
Miss Martin is a 3rd generation McKinley Bulldog! Her grandmother went to school here and her parents met in Room 1. This is Miss Martin's third year as a teacher at McKinley. She says she has the "Best Job in the World". Miss Martin's favorite subject to teach is science because she says it goes with everything--writing, reading, and art. Miss Martin says the best thing about teaching TK/K is, "I get to have fun all day long!" Thank you, Miss Martin for making learning fun for our students!
