Bell Ringers Needed
The Salvation Army encourages individuals and/or groups to ring bells on behalf of their organization, civic group, school, company, club, etc. Each group will be provided signage at their Red Kettle locations and amounts raised will be totaled daily. Those interested in ringing bells are encouraged to call 304-695-2023 as early as possible in order to schedule the date(s), time(s), and location(s) desired.
Funds received through the kettle program help defray the cost of Christmas assistance (food, toys, and Angel Tree) given to the less fortunate in Upshur County. Any monies left over from Christmas expenses will be used to help those in our county throughout the year who may need assistance with utilities, medicine, food, etc.
Because the time frame for the ringing of the bells is only 3 1/2 weeks, your help is desperately needed! If you or your group would like to participate this year, please respond as soon as possible. Please call the number above if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you!!!
Food Needed for Christmas Baskets

As a tutor, you can receive a minimum of two hours a week per each student you tutor with us. Hours can be used towards work-study or service hours. If interested, contact SYC at syctutor@gmail.com or call 304-473-0145 for more information.
- VITA is looking for student tax preparers. If any students would like to join and are willing to commit to about 20 hours of training and test for certification, please contact Lori Hagi at Mountain CAP. Students who prepared taxes last year with VITA would only need to retest for certification. Training can be done online, but it is preferred that a student attend at least one in-person training in Grafton. Tax preparation will last from the first week of February until April 15th, 2014.
