Message from the Principal
June’s Principal’s Message
Notre Dame is very proud to be celebrating 20 years of Catholic Education this year. We recognized this milestone on May 25th, on World Catholic Education Day, with a liturgy in each of the classrooms. In the afternoon, we moved out to the football field to enjoy an afternoon of hot dogs, cake, games, bouncy castles and lots of fun! Thank you to everyone who was able to join the festivities.

Please join me in welcoming our 2 new Vice Principals- Mr. Ryan Birch (from St. Francis and Mr. Kelly Jacobson (from St. Patrick’s). We thank Mr. Ian Stang and Mr. Corey Borys for their excellent leadership and wish them both well.
To help alleviate long line ups for timetable changes in August students, who will be at Notre Dame next year, will receive their schedules during NDD on Monday, June 12th. Beginning June 20th, students will be able to make changes during exam week. The only changes that would then need to be made in August are if a course was completed over the summer or if the student was not successful in their Semester 2 class and needs to retake it. The timetable change schedule will be posted the week of June 19th.
We invite everyone to join us for our Grad Mass on June 4 at 2:00 pm at St. Mary’s Parish. Please keep our Grade 12 students in your thoughts and prayers as they finish their classes, write exams and prepare for their Graduation on Friday, June 30.
A reminder that students working over the summer are able to earn credit for the hours they work. Please have your child contact Mr. Henderson if they would like to sign up for our Summer Work Experience Course.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to ask.
God Bless,
Rose McQuay

RDCRS Summer Reads
The Summer Reading Program is designed to eliminate summer reading loss and foster a love of reading through continued access to books over the summer. All grade 10's and 11's are welcome to participate! How does it work? Talk to your librarians or Mrs. Lajeunesse to sign up for the Summer Reads Google Classroom. There, students can enter their completed books over the summer, talk with their peers and watch for book recommendations.
Every completed book (physical book, eBook OR graphic novel) entered into the Google Classroom equals an entry into a draw for prizes. That's right. Prizes for reading books. Prizes include gift cards from ND/SJ Café, Chapters and the Cougars Den.
From June 1-14 students will be able to check out books from the Learning Commons for the summer. Books can be returned to Notre Dame or St. Joseph's in September.

Don’t Rush Your Brush!
Brush your teeth with fluoride toothpaste twice a day for two minutes to:
· Clean off the sticky plaque that is continuously forming
· Stop gingivitis-(puffy, red bleeding gums)
by brushing along the gumline
· Prevent cavities (flossing prevents cavities between the teeth)
· Make your mouth feel fresh
Helpful hints to brush for 2 minutes:
· Brush to your favourite song
· Count to 10 every two teeth
Use a stop watch or timer to time your brushing
