A Note From the Principal...

Hello Students and Parents!

We are 3/4 of the way through our school year! Report cards for Quarter 3 will go home on March 24 and Spring Break is April 3-7. Quarter 4 will be a busy time for students as we will be doing state testing and a variety of field trips and activities. The CFMS Newsletters and Remind will be the best place to find the most up-to-date information.

Below I have attached a link to an article called "Your Child is the Most Amazing Person" from CNN Reporter Deborah Farmer Kris dated February 17, 2023. This article reviews the growth and development of our MS students along with how they view their social position in the world. I highly recommend that you take a few minutes to read this article!

We have been doing our best to get students home on time but unfortunately we are short bus drivers in our district. This means that sometimes we must double up routes or have students ride a different bus for the day. We communicate any changes either through a phone call, Twitter, Remind, and/or directly with the student. If you know of anyone who might be interested in driving bus, please contact the transportation department.

We have used 5 of our 5 calamity days (snow days) as of today! Our next calamity day will be a remote day unless there is some unforeseen reason we are unable to do remote. Information will go out on Remind to parents about a Remote Day. Remote days start at 9:00am and end at 2:40pm. The schedule for the remote day is on Google Classroom for students and was in the February Newsletter along with an information sheet for each grade level. All students have access to their classes through Google Classroom including the CFMS Google Classroom!

Just a reminder... If your child is absent and is feeling well enough to be doing their school work, please have them log in to their Google Classrooms. All teachers are posting work on Google Classroom with the exception of work that must be done in class such as tests. This will help them to stay caught up and not feel so overwhelmed when returning to school after an absence.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Mrs. Jennifer Klaus

Clear Fork Middle School Principal

Studying the Moon...

Students in Mrs.Staley's 7th grade science classroom practiced identifying and sequencing the moon phases using OREOs. Mrs. Gniewek, a student teacher from MVNU, is doing an excellent job creating hands-on lessons that are engaging for students. Students will also be learning about the seasons, eclipses, and tides during this unit.
