Recycle!
Plastic and Paper
Paper
School can generate a lot of paper waste. Essays, graded classwork, warm-ups, printed assignments: all of these add up to reams and reams of paper for a single student in a school year.
Don't dump your used papers in the trash, recycle them! Paper is easy to recycle, simply place it in a recycle bin, no special treatment necessary. You can do your part to help the environment by taking the simple step of disposing of paper in the recycle bin (often available at schools) rather than the trash can.

Plastic
Though there are some restrictions on plastic that can be recycled, as a rule, most plastic can be recycled. Check your local recycling center rules to see what plastics cannot be recycled. Check the plastic container for plastic type. In Charlotte, for example you cannot recycle type 6 plastic, though you can recycle type 1-5 and type 7 plastics.
