CLASSES IN THE LIBRARY
Photo Essay Project
Ms. Charlton's classes worked in groups to define abstract words in preparation for creating their Photo Essays. Next they will curate images that reflect and define words such as: courage, independence, integrity, confidence, and many more.
Nutrition & Wellness
Ms. Bentley's, Ms. Flack's, and Ms. Duarte's classes collaborated on a Project Based Learning assignment by researching the dietary standards, fitness needs, and brain development of the various stages in the LIfecycles. They will share their findings with the Churchill cluster elementary schools via a digital book.
Senior Inquiry
Ms. Treanor's and Ms. Robison's English 4 classes visited the library to checkout a novel with themes related to their readings throughout the year. After reading this book, they will research a related social issue using databases from the library. Mr. Del Castillo's Senior English classes are creating Adobe Spark videos in the library as part of their Inquiry process.
Adobe Spark
Platform for creating videos for many purposes!
Spanish Classes--Travel Video
Students in Ms. Knauth's classes created videos on Adobe Spark to share what they did on a fictional trip to a Spanish-speaking country.
English Classes--Book Trailers
Ms. Miller's classes worked in groups on Adobe Spark to create book trailers for their book club titles. They used images and voice recordings to spotlight the books they read.
English Classes--Response to Inquiry
Mr. Del Castillo's classes conducted research to answer their inquiry questions. They created Adobe Spark videos as a culminating activity and a presentation platform.
Save the Date for this funfilled, foodie event!
Read All About It!
We have begun sharing our schedule and events on a mobile monitor at the front sign-in area of the library. Several students and teachers have already commented on the helpfulness of this display. The technology used for this also allows anyone--teachers and students-- to present using their NEISD Google Account.
Lunch in the Library
We love having students visit the library during their lunch. They are welcome to bring their in their lunch and enjoy it on the tiled area while working or quietly socializing. Students may also study, do homework, and work on computers. There are times that we do have to close when we have classes visiting, when we have testing in the library, or other special events. We thank the students for their understanding when this is necessary.
