Just when you thought all the COVID case letters I’ve sent this week have been upsetting, I have other disappointing news to share. Our dearest, smile-for-everyone, ultra-competent and super caring Julie Willams has accepted the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent position at SPS Central Office. While this is a professional promotion and a great opportunity for Julie, it is a crushing loss to Peter Noyes School.
The good news is that this does not start immediately. Julie will stay with us for the next few weeks while we post, interview, and hire for her position.
Julie has been our administrative assistant for 11 years. She loves working here and adores the children, the staff, and all our families. For this reason, she respectfully requests that we not chat with her about this big move, as this will undoubtedly be an emotional goodbye. A kind note is deeply appreciated. Crying and hugging and trying to convince her she’s crazy to leave us is less so. Trust us, we’ve tried.
Lastly, and unrelated to Julie, it has been a stressful week with more COVID cases than we’ve ever had in such a short time. Please be extra diligent about monitoring your children for symptoms, keeping them home if they are sick, and staying committed to safety protocols. It is essential that any children who have a household member testing positive MUST quarantine. This does not mean just staying home from school. It means staying home for every single thing -- no sports, no playdates, no religious services, no scouting, no trick-or-treating, nada. We are relying on each other and all of us must work together to keep everyone safe. Thank you for your partnership on this.
We are looking for library volunteers to help in our library. There will be a training on a Wednesday coming up soon. If you are interested, please reach out to our librarian, Barbara Gogan, via email at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Dear Peter Noyes Families -
We are excited to announce the return of lunch/recess volunteers! We know that volunteering at school helps all of us feel better connected and we are excited to bring this opportunity back to Noyes! Below you will find a link to sign up for time slots. Please note that you can sign up as often as you like, but we require before volunteering begins that you do three important things:
Check your CORI status with Mrs. Williams in the front office. She can be reached by phone at 978-443-1085 X6001 or by email at Julie_Williams@sudbury.k12.ma.us. All volunteers must pass the criminal records check before volunteering at school.
Provide proof that you’ve been vaccinated against COVID-19 by completing this form
Attend one of the mandatory volunteer training offered via Google Meet:
The sign-up can be found here. Volunteering will begin on November 15th. Please note that often families sign up for a weekly/bi-weekly or monthly slot. Please be sure to choose all the dates you want to ensure they do not fill up. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Moffat at Kristin_Moffat@sudbury.k12.ma.us.
Thank you for volunteering!
