RCE Students Create Squirrel Feeders
Students Celebrate Earth Day
Addison Mayers took the assignment a step further. While practicing social distancing, Addison and her sister, along with a couple of friends, walked through their neighborhood collecting trash. They did an amazing job demonstrating how a little action can make a huge difference.
EHS FBLA Students win awards
Earlier this week during the Opening Session at the Virtual State Leadership Conference, it was announced the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) club at Elizabeth High School received several recognitions:
- Top Dollar Award with the Colorado March of Dimes for their Partnership with Business Project resulting in $1,176.37 raised
- The Peak 5 Award that many of the students worked very hard on
- Student Kellen McCoin won the FBLA Alumni Scholarship of $1,000
The Awards Session will be held virtually on May 4, 2020. Congratulations to all!
EMS NJH Inductees
Congratulations to the 2020-2021 inductees of the EMS Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society: Gretchen Alltop, Aliya Almquist, Lacy Antinora, Hayden Bieker, Caleigh Callighan, Naomi Cantrall, Charlie Crofts, Isabella Goodwin, Kyle Gustafson, MaKenzie Hayes, Erika Hefty, Brooke Hicks, Madilynn Huston, Ann Jones, Stephanie Lunt, Addison Mayers, Hailey Mink, Samantha Mowbray, Genesis Nuno-Marquez, Kamdyn Ross, Troy Savage, Jamie Sikorski, Braylon Twiss, Brynley Twiss, Jessica VanAernam, Jeremy Waymire, and Samantha Wineman.
Once officially inducted (virtual ceremony on May 7th), new members are required to maintain the same level of performance (or better) in all five criteria that led to their selection. This obligation includes attending any meetings held during the school year and participation in any service projects for the community or our school.
EMS Students Zoom with NASA Astronaut
On Friday, eighth grade students in Laura James' science class enjoyed a Zoom meeting with NASA Astronaut Kjell Lindgren, M.D. (also an uncle of one of her students). In 2015, Dr. Lindgren spent 141 days on the International Space Station and enjoyed sharing his experiences with the students.
RCE Virtual Field Day
Running Creek Elementary physical education teacher, Joe Ptaszynski, is starting to prepare for a virtual Field Day for students and families. Using the National Field Day format and materials, students and families should focus on the Field Day Packs 1/2 and the Student Practice Plans 1/2. Next Week Mr. Ptaszynski will post the cards and videos to his Google classroom page so students can practice the different events. On Friday, May 8, students will compete in as many events as possible and record their scores online. Keep checking Mr. Ptaszynski's Google page for more information or email him here.
Remote/Distance Learning
