Keep knifes sharp. Dull knifes are more dangerous than sharp ones because you have to push harder on the blade in order to make it cut. This may cause it to slip.
Accident prevention for cuts
Use a cutting board, do not hold food in your hand to cut. Never try to catch a falling knife and use knifes only when cutting food. Make sure you store knives in a knife block, rack, or drawer divider.
