Global Community Fellowship 2017-2018
Our one-year fellowship in Asia for professionals and recent college graduates. The GCF is a 13-15 month program where Fellows work at NGOs and schools across Asia to support community development and youth education programs. Applications close November 13, 2016 and the site for the fellowship is here.
Art and Social Movements with SUNY Cortland
This program is held in Jogjakarta and Bali, Indonesia during early January and is an intersection of culture, politics, and traditions in the arts. Students explore interpretations of Hindu and Islamic religious and cultural practices, study and speak Bahasa Indonesia, learn gamelan, batik making, and Balinese and Javanese cooking. Over the three weeks of the program, students earn 3 college credit hours through SUNY Cortland. For more information, students can visit our website here.
Gender and Conflict with GMU
This program is held in Bali and Java, Indonesia during early January and explores Indonesia through the lens of gender with a focus on conflict, civic engagement, violence, development and justice. Indonesia: Exploring Social Change Tour
This program will spend 10 days in Yogyakarta and Bali, Indonesia taking a behind-the-scenes look at history and tourism in these two provinces. Led by Balinese anthropologist Degung Santikarma and VIA’s Izzy Rhoads, a PhD Candidate in Law, this is not your average eco-tour. Check it out, here!
