Quote of the week
From Mr. Wingfield
As we finish up the last two weeks of school I want to brag on our kids a bit. I have seen so much growth from our kids from the beginning of the year to now. We have talked a lot about respect, character, integrity, and how our actions inevitably affect our entire school community. So many of our students have really taken this information to heart and grown emotionally and academically throughout the year. Last Thursday and yesterday our 8th graders were involved in a community service project and had a field trip in Brenham. In both instances, those communities were so impressed with their manners, behaviors, and work ethic. What an amazing way to represent our campus, district, and community. During STAAR testing our students were here and provided great effort on all of their exams. We had almost 100% attendance for all of our testing days. Way to Go Panthers!!
May 25th is our 8th grade promotion ceremony. We want to send our 8th graders off to HS with some words of encouragement and highlight some accomplishments from their MS years. Students should wear their Sunday best and stay within dress code. Boys may wear nice jeans with a collared shirt. Please call our office if you have any questions.
We are requesting pictures of our outgoing 8th graders for the promotion ceremony. If you have not yet sent images, please do so by Friday, May 12th. Images can be one current image and then any other two images you would like to provide. Please send to SHines@normangeeisd.org or EKimich@normangeeisd.org.
Update:
In an effort to continually keep our students and campus safe, all parents will need to physically enter the building in order to check out your child for any reason. We will pull your child out of class when you arrive and have gone through the check-out procedures. Thanks for your cooperation.
If there is any other information you would like to receive through the MS Newsletter, please feel free to email me at jwingfield@normangeeisd.org
As always, if I can help in any way please let me know.

The Capturing Kids Heart focus for April will be Integrity
What is Integrity?
Integrity is the ability and willingness to live with honesty and excellence. People who act with integrity make a choice to do the right thing, no matter who is watching. Integrity is the foundation on which we build relationships and trust.
Why Focus on Integrity?
- Integrity generates trust. When we are honest and follow through on promises, we gain the confidence of our team; Trust allows us to collaborate and achieve more together.
- Integrity encourages self-assessment. Integrity requires our regular self-assessment to align behaviors with our goals and self-beliefs.
- Integrity is essential in leadership. Great leaders decrease anxiety and build strong teams when they are honest, consistent, and responsible.
Integrity In Action
- Acknowledge and affirm acts with integrity. Publicly praise students who model acts of integrity such as honesty and honor. Encourage students to identify classmates who show integrity.
- Use scenarios and role play. Challenge students with real-life scenarios and situations that allow them to reflect, discuss, and choose the best next step or action.
- Create a culture of accountability. Invite students to give you feedback. Ask students to rate the class based on your Social Contract. Empower students with choice-based consequences.
From our Bus Barn
A reminder to students that they must get out to the bus loop as soon as the school day ends. They need to be on the bus and make sure they are modeling positive behavior. We have elementary school kids on the buses and they are looking for great role models that are practicing and following our campus and district expectations.
