March is Women's History Month

Each year, National Women’s History Month offers an opportunity to honor the contributions women have made to our nation and society. CVUSD is proud to recognize the accomplishments of women all year through and especially this March.

National Women’s History Month began as a week-long observance celebrated the week of March 8, 1980, to honor the contributions women have made to our nation and society. That week was chosen to correspond with International Women’s Day, which is March 8th.The event was expanded to a month-long observance in 1987 on the approval of Public Law 100-9, and since that time each president has issued an annual proclamation designating March as Women’s History Month.

Wildwood Enrollment Projection Form - Please Complete!

In order to properly plan staffing for the 2023-2024 school year, we are requesting that all families who currently have a child attending Wildwood Elementary complete THIS FORM. If you have more than 1 child currently attending Wildwood, please complete a separate form for each child. Forms are due March 10, 2023. This form should take less than 1 minute to complete.

Families of 5th grade students do not need to complete this form for your 5th grade student because we are already aware that they will be moving on.

Part-time Paid Job Opportunities at Wildwood

Many of our part-time employees joined our team because they are members of our Wildwood community who believe in the work we are doing to educate and care for our students. That's why we present job-opportunities to you before extending them beyond our community. If any of the following opportunities look interesting to you, please reach out to us to learn more or express interest.

Substitute Campus Supervisors

We have a terrific campus supervision team at Wildwood, but we are currently in need of individuals who are willing to serve as substitutes for shifts on an as needed basis. We may have part-time positions with regular shifts available next school year, so this is a great way to get your feet wet and see if this work is a good fit for you. Contact Karen Meyer if interested.

Music Specialist for TK-3rd Grade

Wildwood currently has weekly music classes for grades 4 & 5, but we would like to extend services to all TK-3rd grade classes. If you or someone you know has experience providing learning experiences in music and/or the performing arts, please contact Mr. Lynch at klynch@conejousd.org.

P.E. Teacher for 2023-2024 School Year

Our beloved P.E. teachers, Robin Cookus and Tracy Rogers, will be hanging up their whistles at the end of this school year, so to maintain continuity with our program, we would like to bring on replacement P.E. teachers for the remainder of this school year to work alongside them and learn the program. If you or someone you know are interested in one of these 10-20 hour/week positions, or if you would like to begin with a 1-2 day/week shadow position for the remainder of this school year, please contact Mr. Lynch at klynch@conejousd.org.

School Attendance and Scheduling Vacation

Start building good attendance habits early on so children learn right away that going to school on time, every day is important. Attending school regularly improves academic performance and helps children feel better about school and themselves.

If your student will be absent, please call our office to report the absence. Students are marked “truant” when we don’t hear from a parent on each day of an unreported absence.

Please avoid scheduling vacation when school is in session.

Lost & Found

If your child lost a clothing item (LOTS of jackets), lunch bag, or water bottle on campus, it's likely we have found it. Our Lost & Found cart is usually stored in the MPR, and we will begin placing it out front on the last day of every school week for you to sift through. At the end of the month, all remaining items will be donated to a local charity.

Talent Show Update

Our annual Wildwood Talent Show will take place on March 10 at 6:30pm. We can't wait to see the many Tiger talents on display at this special event. All Wildwood students will be able to see the performances at our dress rehearsal assembly at 8:15am earlier that day.

All cast members must turn in their ticket pre-order by Monday, March 6th. Pre-ordered tickets can be picked up in the office on Tuesday (3/7). If they’re not picked up, they will be sent home with the student on Wednesday (3/8). Starting Wednesday morning, all remaining tickets will be sold in the front office on a first come, first served basis. Tickets are $3 each- cash only. There will be no tickets sold at the door.

School Spirit Day - March 31

Our next school spirit day is March 31. The theme will be "Disney Day" OR "Character Dress-up Day". Students are encouraged to dress up in Disney Attire OR dress up like their favorite character from any book, movie, or TV show.
