MPE Weekly Roar
April 8, 2022
A Message From Principal Dolan
Dear MPE Families,
The Used Book Fair was a huge success. Thank you to all who donated and volunteered to make this a wonderful experience for our children. Remember to read with your child every day, set regular schedules, and plan your days in advance. Students thrive with structure and routine.
We look forward to parent-teacher conferences next week. If you have not scheduled a time to meet with your child's teacher, please do so as soon as possible. These meetings are a special time to strengthen our partnership in education for our children.
After spring break, I will send a form home where you can provide input regarding next year's class placement. This is not something that needs to be discussed during conferences. Your feedback is valuable and look forward to receiving it later in the month.

Parent/Teacher Conferences - April 12, 13, 14
Conferences will be held virtually. Please be on time for your Zoom appointment.
Livingston Public Library Showcase
Got a Sweet Tooth? If so you’ll love the decadent dessert oil pastel pieces created by MPE 2nd grade artisits! This artwork is currently on display in the Livingston Library Showcase until the end or April. Students enjoyed learning about the late artist Wayne Thiebaud and his dessert inspired artwork, while creating their very own delicious masterpieces! Artists focused on the Elements of Art, form and color, during this lesson. Students learned about form and dimension focusing on highlights, shadows, and drawing ellipses. When adding color, students were encouraged to include complementary colors in order to make their work POP! Oil pastel techniques like blending, layering, and thick application were a must for this artwork and these students excelled! Each drawing was done on colored paper in order to give our backgrounds an additional glow. This was a fun creation for each student with delicious results!
Artists are so creative!
We are creating magic! So many colors!!!
Making the world more beautiful, one piece at a time!
Congratulations to William Sun!
What a great accomplishment! Congratulations William!
Important: Please remember to follow all the traffic signs and rules during arrival and dismissal. There is no double parking or blocking driveways. Please make sure you are waiting in the carline and not cutting in front of others.
