A Note from Mrs. Palmer
Dear EES Families,
We are half way through the first nine weeks of school. Teachers have been busy giving the following assessments: PALS, VKRP (Pre-K/Kindergarten), PAST (Phonological Awarenss Screening Test), and the Growth Asessment for grades 3-5. Data collected will be used to meet students academic needs on their level.
Interim reports will be sent home to parents who requested one when your child was registered.
Thanks to all that participated in the school fundraiser. Any orders shipped to the school, will either be sent home with your child or be available for pick up. Students that sold 5 or more items will be given a strip of duct tape to be used to tape Mrs. Palmer to the wall. It will be on live stream so classes can watch. The date is TBD.
We all know that communication is a way to connect with our childeren/students. Words are powerful and the way we say something, can make a difference. Here are some ways to say some simple phrases in a more connecting and powerful way.
Students must wear their face mask when transported to and from school on a school bus. This is RCPS policy.
The Parent/Student Handbook is found at the link below. It contains lots of information. I encourage you to read through it. Call the school before 8:45, if your child will be absent from school. (298-1511)
Call the school by 8:45 AM if your child is feeling ill and will be absent from school. Let us know of any Covid exposures or potential exposures. Safety is a priority at EES.
There are students arriving to school without a mask. Make sure your child has a mask each school day.
I wish you well,
Barbara Palmer
