The Cigarroa Family Visits Cigarroa Elementary!
Happy 100th day of school! We have officially more than passed the midway point of the school year and we have our sights set on making significant gains on our end-of-course student exams beginning as early as March for our 4th and 5th grade students. I said this before this week -- it is evident that everyone is working very hard to make this an impactful year for our students. We have one week left before a well-deserved 3-day weekend. This is definitely the beginning of the time in the year when we normally put in the extra hours and really earn our summers off. Push yourself this week to work smarter instead of working harder! For example, try making a list of "To Don'ts" along with your list of "To Dos." Where can you be more efficient with your time so that you are more efficient for kids?
Here is important information for this week:
Mark your calendars! The Spring 2016 ACP Film Festival is April 9. Registration information is coming soon!
Don't forget that the Campus Writing Composition Exam is this Thursday, February 11! Please direct any logistical questions to Mrs. Johnson.
Thank you to everyone for being more punctual and for monitoring closer during Morning Roundup, morning announcements in the auditorium, and dismissal in both the cafeteria and auditorium. There was a tremendous positive difference in the efficiency of all of these arrival and dismissal systems from Wednesday through Friday. These systems only work well with 100% participation from adults -- thank you!
This Friday is our PTSA Sweetheart Dance for parents and their students from 5:30-8:00 in the cafeteria. Parent volunteers will decorate the cafeteria Friday afternoon and the event is a great way to make Valentine's Day meaningful from people who love them very much -- their families! Staff members are of course welcome to attend and bring their children to the dance!
Don't forget, should you choose to participate in the special "We love Cigarroa!" month, please make sure that you visibly wear your heart which includes a reason why you love Cigarroa. Participants should wear a new heart every day and everyone should give their hearts to Mrs. Flores at the end of each day.
Have a great Valentine's week!
