Dear Parents / Carers,

What a fantastic end to the Spring term! This week has been incredibly busy and I know there will be lots of people ready for the Easter break.

On Wednesday, Year 6 Angelou set off excitedly for their residential stay at East Barnby. I have had regular updates so I know how well they have represented Kirk Fenton and what a wonderful time they have had. They have shown our school values through perseverance, respect and thankfulness and have worked hard both individually and in teams, overcoming fears and working together. Well done Year 6, you have been great ambassadors for our school! Thank you to Mr Priory, Mrs Cameron and Mrs Parnaby for all your hard work too.

Also on Wednesday, the school visited church for an Easter worship. Many of our younger children had not been to the church before so it was lovely for them to be able to look around and enjoy the building whilst listening to the Easter story.

Later in the afternoon, Year 5 Shakespeare had a visit from parent, Mr Harrop who explained how he uses a compass in his work. This was following on from the 'greatest invention' work that Year 5 are doing in Science and they will use their new knowledge to compete against other Trust schools later in the summer term.

Year 3 Milligan and Year 4 Zephaniah thrilled audiences with their production of 'Three Little Trees' on Thursday and Friday. Their oracy was clear and their singing beautiful, they all put their hearts into the performance. I know parents were very proud of their children and it really is a lovely story for this time of year. Thank you to the staff team involved in putting this performance together and well done to everyone involved from both classes. What a great way to end the term!

Finally, on Friday Coehlo ended the term with a worship showcasing their learning for this term. It was lovely to see how proud they are of their work and to see how far they have come in English and Science but also in their confidence and resilience. Well done Coehlo, what a clever class you are!

The summer term will start on Tuesday 18th April at 8:45 for pupils, gates open at 8:35am. Just a little reminder that the Parents' Coffee Morning will be on Friday 21st April and Mrs Harrison and Mrs Bembridge will be attending, we would love you to join us. In the meantime, have a wonderful and peaceful Easter break.

Staff Thank You's

If anyone would like to say thank you to or has any positive comments for a member of staff then please complete and submit the form below.

Firstly, a huge thank you to everyone who came to the Curry & Quiz night last week. It was fantastic to see so many people there and have so much support. We raised over £700 through the event which is amazing, and we hope everyone who attended enjoyed themselves. We plan to host more parents events in the future, it would be great to hear what kind of events you'd be interested in, so please drop us a message on our Facebook page with any ideas!

As we reach the end of term, we have had a tally up and have raised almost £2,000 this term, through Bags4School, the Readathon, Curry & Quiz Night and the Easter fundraiser. With the coronation orders still to close, we're sure the amount raised will go over £2,000.

Thank you to everyone that has supported any of the fundraising activities we have done. We are working towards a couple of big goals this year, including providing some new Chromebooks for the school, and we continue to cover the costs of coaches for events like the Christmas panto and treats for the children at events throughout the year.
