Things about her
Ayn Rand was a famous Russian author. She was born in 1905 in St. Petersburg Russia. She lived a hard life in Russia as she had to teach herself to read, witness a revolution happen, and had to leave her leave the country to escape a war. She then later moved to the U.S, and began her writing career there. From there on she would make controversial books that have made a deep impact in literature.
Rand Philosophy
Ayn had a philosophy called Objectivism. Which means that she believed that human beings as a whole have a purpose for their life, usually it being happiness or achievements. In basic terms it means that an individual exits for their own sake and they have their own goals.
Controversy
She was controversial because of philosophy because of it's regard to homosexuals. Her regards to homosexuals is that she believes that they are disgusting an immoral but she held a non-discrimination protection for homosexuals.
