In my free time I love grabbing some Starbucks and getting lost through aisles in Target or trying new restaurants with my boyfriend. I also enjoy hanging with my friends and family at the beach and playing with my puppy Cami.

She is super excited for this school year and is a familiar face to a lot of our friends in this class and throughout the school, as she was a camp counselor this past summer.

The day in the life of a Pre-K student
8:00 to 8:30- Arrival and small centers
8:30 to 8:45- morning meeting
9:00 to 9:45- Morning circle time
9:45 to 10:15- small guided groups for language arts.
10:15 to 10:30- snack/outside recess time
10:30 to 12:00- Language Arts
12:05 to 12:35- Lunch
12:40 to 1:05- Recess
1:05 to 1:30- Story time
1:30 to 2:30-Math
2:30 to 3:20- Science or Social studies
3:30 to 4:00- Pack up, afternoon snack and play centers and dismissal
*Schedule varies according to specials and Pride time

Letter Buddies Curriculum
Skill building alphabet curriculum that reinforces and teaches visual discrimination between letters, proper handwriting, letter sounds, blend sounds, and introduces high frequency words
How can you help your child be successful in school?
- Read together as much as possible.
- Be sure your child is getting plenty of sleep each night.
- Eat a healthy breakfast each morning.
- Be positive and excited about learning!
- Teach responsibility.
- Stay involved, ask your child something they learned each day.
- Communicate whenever needed with teacher.
What will my student be learning in specials?
- Students will study various forms and styles of music from around the world including: the blues, jazz, opera, classical, and world music. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in two performances!
- Winter Concert - songs of the season Friday, December 6th at 9:30AM
- Spring Concert - silly songs (date TBD)
Spanish
- colors, numbers, shapes, greetings, and family names.
- Students will be doing some movement learning so you may see some fun pictures of dancing while learning.
- We read a small book each class and work on learning new words and learning about new cultures.
Art
- explore paint, fiber arts, ceramics, drawing, book arts, and multimedia work
- make their own pinch pots out of clay
- learn to use a variety of tools for art-making
- create art for school-wide celebrations such as Dia de los Muertos
- begin to integrate technology into their art work and practice
Gym
- Some skills: throws, catches, kicks, body control, spatial awareness
- Some Movements: jumping, running
- General concepts: sharing, teamwork, individual development
- Events: Hoops for Heart, PreK/K Field Day
Field Trips that extend our learning
Throughout the year PreK students will take their learning out of the classroom on several field trips.

Students can earn points for things such as:

Points are not taken away from students, only given
Used within the classroom to create a positive classroom culture
