Message From The Principal
Dear Pershing Families,
As we conclude 2022, and break for the winter holiday in two weeks, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to all who help make Pershing Elementary School an amazing place to be. From the classroom to our living room and all points in-between, our collective efforts to raise the whole child are filled with passion, commitment, and a willingness to make decisions that may be hard in the present but will have a positive and lasting influence in the future for all. Our Family members are such a critical part of all we hope to accomplish on behalf of our Pershing scholars. Thank you for entrusting us with your most precious gift, your children.
RAMS word of the month: Kindness
Kindness Defined
Kindness can mean different things to different people. The meaning is in how YOU choose to show it. Be it through empathy, acceptance, kind gestures, thoughtfulness, the possibilities are entirely up to you. Kindness might look like being helpful or showing empathy. It may mean doing nice things without expecting nice things in return

Attendance Matters
Regular and consistent attendance in school is critical to a child's learning and development and may ultimately determine that child's overall success, both in school and in life. Student well-being depends upon students being able to show up when school is in session.
SAISD students from all campuses will have the opportunity to win an entry for their family into a drawing for a car giveaway. The car giveaway is an incentive to encourage all students from all campuses to attend classes every day. This incentive program is based solely on attendance and enrollment. No other factors such as academic performance, student behavior and discipline, or involvement in volunteer or extra-curricular activities will be required or considered in this drawing. By meeting certain attendance metrics outlined below, SAISD students will be able to earn digital ticket(s) for their family/guardian to be entered into a drawing during each 9-weeks grading period. The drawing will be held at the end of the 2022-2023 school year. Additional drawings for smaller prizes will be held during the 2022-2023 school year based on digital ticket(s) earned during that 9-week grading period.
