Monte the Tiger's Weekly Update
News from Buena Vista Montessori ~ November 5, 2021
Hello Tiger Families!
Fall is in the air and we are noticing all of the changes throughout our campus! Please remember to have your child bring a coat, hat, and mittens with them to school each day. The weather changes quickly and drastically here in Colorado Springs, and we want everyone to be prepared!
And, because the weather is chilly in the morning and warm in the afternoon, our Lost and Found is filling up with coats, hats, and mittens! Encourage your child to look through the Lost and Found to retrieve their items. You may also come in to the vestibule and let the office ladies know that you'd like to look in Lost and Found. We are happy to have you come inside and browse!
Thank you for continually trusting us with your children each day! We value our time spent with them and can't wait for the beginning of each new day to see them again!

Montessori Moments
Specially Trained Teachers
It takes a special person to become a Montessori educator. This teaching method emphasizes the heightened learning ability of children when they’re allowed to make their own choices. It was developed by Dr. Maria Montessori in the early 20th century to improve children’s education by helping them help themselves. Today’s Montessori teacher training revolves around absorbing this method of guiding young minds. There are seven characteristics that parents should notice in the classroom teachers at Buena Vista.
- Sets a Good Example
- Observes Carefully
- Thrives on New Discoveries
- Learns from Mistakes
- Encourages Creativity
- Encourages Initiative, Independence, and Self-Reliance
- Completes a College Bachelors Degree and an additional year of Montessori Training
School Highlight - Veteran's Hero Wall
Don't forget to submit your Hero Poster before Veteran's Day!
Special Message from Ms. Marni
Beginning November 3rd, through November 12th, the Buena Vista Library will be running a virtual Book eFair through Follett.
The secret is.....I will not be telling your child(ren)!
You may order books online as a present for the holidays or just because.
Feel free to share the link for the fair with family and friends near and far!
Books will be delivered to the school after the fair has concluded and I will have them available for pick up before, during, or after school.
What makes Follett different from Scholastic is that Follett is not a publisher, therefore you can purchase books from multiple publishers, even Scholastic. This will give you a larger variety of books to choose from!
Here is the link for the eFair:
https://efairs.follettbookfairs.com/guest/home?classCode=Z2GX3
If asked for a eFair code, type in: Z2GX3
After you click on the link, use the search bar at the top of the website to search for any book.
I have added some recommendations based on popular books in our library.
Follett will give a percentage of the sales back to the library for buying library quality books from the student generated wish list.
Thank you for supporting our Buena Vista Library.
Happy browsing!
