A Note from Mrs. Williams

Hello Schluter Families!

It was a wonderful first week here at Schluter! We have been thrilled to welcome our students back, and our hearts are full having them back with us. I've been so proud of how our returning and new students have jumped back into learning and are already making new friends.

A few reminders about arrival and dismissal:

  • We are no longer able to allow parents to walk students to class in the morning. We are happy to assist students who are still working on navigating our building.
  • In the dismissal car line in the back of the school, please only form 2 lines. You can review a visual and descriptions of each dismissal location in the link below.
  • Our dismissal process begins at 3:00pm each day. We started dismissal early on the first two days of school only.

Thank you for your patience as the district has worked through bus route changes and updates. Please see the information and links below for updates and possible changes to your bus route.

We look forward to seeing our students again for a full week next week! Have a restful and relaxing weekend!

Updated Bus Route Information Available

As with the start of all school years in our fast-growth district, transportation was a challenge that will improve in the coming days. This year, more than 3,400 new bus riders joined already-completed bus routes in the few days since route information was emailed to families. With this challenge in mind, the district transportation department is in the process of adding these students and more to the existing routes and rerouting when needed. As with previous school years, this work will continue for the first week or two of school.

Route information will continue to be added to the district’s online route system, the MyView tracking app (available on the iOS App Store and Google Play), and in the Home Access Center. Thank you for your understanding as our transportation staff work diligently to meet the needs of all families.

If you have not already filled out the daily transportation form for your student, please do so we have a record of how they get home everyday. This form will be closed on Sunday, August 22, 2021. If you have any questions, please contact the front office 817-698-3900 or email pamela.frank@nisdtx.org

What's Happening in NISD

Free Meal Program Extended for Elementary, Middle Schools

All Northwest ISD students in elementary and middle school will continue receive free breakfast and lunch meals during the 2021-2022 school year! While students in high school will not take part in the same program, they can continue to apply for free or reduced-price meals.

Though meals are free to all elementary and middle school students, we strongly encourage families to continue to apply for the free and reduced-price meal program, as there are further benefits that can help reduce financial hardship. An accurate count of students in need also helps provide the appropriate programs at schools. Anyone who previously applied for the free or reduced-price meal program or believes they may now qualify based on their financial circumstances should still apply. This will also ensure these students receive free or reduced-cost meals for at least the first 30 days of the 2022-2023 school year.
