New Year's Resolutions
Happy New Year! I hope everyone enjoyed the winter break. For many, the start of the new calendar year brings resolutions to improve something we are already doing or start a new practice. Here are some resolutions families can make to support their children at school:
Prepare for school the night before to promote an on-time arrival to school the next day. Have backpacks packed and by the door and ready to go before going to bed
Set aside 20 minutes daily to read with your child or to have your child read independently. Daily reading or exposure to books is a great way to improve students’ reading abilities.
Set a reasonable bedtime and evening routine to promote quality sleep for your child. Quality sleep allows your child to recharge their brain, transfer knowledge learned during the day from short-term to long-term memory, and for our younger students, promote brain development.
Thank you for setting routines that help children be successful at school!
