New Year's Resolutions

Happy New Year! I hope everyone enjoyed the winter break. For many, the start of the new calendar year brings resolutions to improve something we are already doing or start a new practice. Here are some resolutions families can make to support their children at school:

  • Prepare for school the night before to promote an on-time arrival to school the next day. Have backpacks packed and by the door and ready to go before going to bed

  • Set aside 20 minutes daily to read with your child or to have your child read independently. Daily reading or exposure to books is a great way to improve students’ reading abilities.

  • Set a reasonable bedtime and evening routine to promote quality sleep for your child. Quality sleep allows your child to recharge their brain, transfer knowledge learned during the day from short-term to long-term memory, and for our younger students, promote brain development.

Thank you for setting routines that help children be successful at school!

Mrs. Friis
