Collection Tomorrow
All students have an opportunity to get involved and make a practical contribution tomorrow following the events of Cyclone Gabrielle.
A friendly reminder that we are requesting item donations (no donation too small!), so anything you may be able to spare from the list will be gratefully received. See below for a complete list.
Items (not cash donations) can be dropped at the Hall tomorrow morning (Friday 24th) before school, to be collected by local charity The Kindness Collective.
Y5 Camp
It was great to see the Year 5 students having such a fun, challenging experience of Camp this week at Carey Park, and I was once again impressed by their encouraging attitudes and the encouragement they showed each other each other to give the many activities a go.
I'd like to thank our amazing Team 5 teachers, Associate Principal Aone Laufili, and parent volunteers for making this such an enjoyable experience for the children.
Swimming Sports
Tomorrow brings our Swimming Sports at Diocesan pool, in which I'm sure the children will be equally outstanding. Unfortunately, I will be away for this event as I am attending the Principal's Council in Wellington, but I wish all of our swimmers well.
Measles in NZ
I want to bring important information from Auckland Regional Health Authority to your attention of a first NZ case of measles that has recently been confirmed, with advice that they anticipate a high likelihood of further cases.
Measles is, of course, highly infectious and babies, young children and non-immune pregnant women are vulnerable to serious illness.
Health authorities have asked us to remind all parents and caregivers that children and young people should have two MMR vaccinations to avoid disruption to their education. Vaccination records are in the Wellchild/Plunket book or you can ask your doctor if you are unsure.
Measles is a notifiable disease. In the event of a case of measles being reported at a school, Public Health would intervene to advise on next steps, which would be passed on to all caregivers.
If you or a member of your family were to contract or suspect a case of measles, we ask that you notify us immediately here at school. Further information can be found at the link below.

3pm, Friday 3rd March (Top Courts)
Building on the much loved end-of-term ice block tradition, we will now sell iceblocks to celebrate being half way through Term 1 as well! Bring $2 to buy an iceblock after school next Friday 3rd March on the top courts. Many thanks to Anjana Rele and team.
Yummy Apple Stickers - keep collecting!
Last year 12,367 stickers stickers were collected! The 2023 count has just started so please remember to save your apple stickers as we are only half way to meet last years number!
If you buy your Yummy apples by the bag please note there are sometimes square cut-out labels that say 'Cut out Label' and these count as 10 stickers, or you can cut out the barcode and stick that on, or both! There is a separate sheet for cut-out labels but a blank piece of paper will work just as well.
You can collect stickers year round and drop them to the office.

Seems too easy but $10 of every kids meal goes directly to our school funds. All you need to do is book your table and put MENPS into the ‘requests’ box and they will donate the profits of your kids meals back to the school.
Easy right?
